Digital Identity in Web3 is based on the concept of individual sovereignty. Instead of entrusting our data to large centralized platforms, we use Decentralized Identifiers (DID) and Verifiable Credentials. This allows us to prove who we are or what we own without having to share the entire set of personal data, drastically reducing the risks of identity theft.
